How to Become a Professional Artist
The How to Become a Professional Artist video installation constituted an interesting point of view in the polyphony of SURVIVAL. A clip made from found footage materials shows a number of people making video-guides which address the question of how to be a real artist. Blajerski’s work was probably the most ‘detached’ from the rest of the Review, the least ‘sport-like’. It is this work, however, which seermed to suggest that each artwork should be treated as a finite whole rather than part of some bigger story. After all, the author of the video seerns to be telling us that every artist is taking part in a race, competing for the best place, the viewer’s attention, artistic success.
