SICKSINK

Formal minimalism in the overwhelming space of the Pharmacy building posed a considerable challenge both to the artists and viewers. In one of the aseptic little rooms, Lech created an object that combined the idea of the readymade with a minimalist sculptural intervention, which introduced dissonance in the cognitive process. SICKSINK resembled one of the many sinks in the building, but this one was doubled in a barely noticeable way, blurring in with the surroundings rid of all other objects. Playing with the sense of sight, it made the viewer look for references in the venue itself and in the issue of illness as such. The way the sink was doubled suggested an inflammatory state – infection with a virus, which caused a dangerous growth of the matter.
